The name Njord pays homage to its Nordic roots, inspired by the god of calm seas, wind, and sailing. This unique line captures the essence of the region, blending functionality with elegant design. Scaffidi & Johansen
Antonio Scaffidi, born in 1976, and Mads K. Johansen, born in 1978, both graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Design and Conservation in Copenhangen.
Whereas Antonio Scaffidi benefits from the symbiosis between his fiery Italian temperament and Nordic culture, Mads K. Johansen was driven by his artistic passion as a cabinetmaker.
In their opinion, Good design is the interplay of creative ideas, meticulous planning, careful selection and incorporation of natural materials. They are eager to explore new avenues, and try out new, unusual combinations – as proven by their designs for Kusch+Co. Mads K. Johansen’s life journey ended in autumn 2014.
